Mountain Cottage dates back to the 19th century, and each owner has added something new this is evident in the quirky cottage you find today, some of our favourite features are:
- Luxurious master bedroom with en suite and freestanding bath
- Ideal for families, sleeping 5+ across three rooms; two doubles and a single room
- Unique outdoor spaces from the balcony to The Rest and Pavilion to Belvedere, you'll have options for every moment
- Cosy spaces with shuttered dining and living rooms.
The Bedrooms
The Master: On the upper floor features a king sized bed; it is perfect for couples with a relaxed and open feel. This room tastefully decorated with recycled and quirky furniture and if you fancy a lazy morning in the place to be with en-suite and TV you can really get comfy!
The Second Bedroom: Features a double bed and is great for a couple or children alike; it is light and airy with views onto the garden, it also is just off the wetroom and toilet.
The Third Bedroom: Features a single bed, perfect for all ages it’s spacious with it’s vaulted ceiling and views onto the garden, slightly separate from the rest of the house up a small staircase and comfy with mega beanbag! (The cottage also has a spare popup bed, which can be used for extra space.)
Living Spaces
The Dining Room: Is at the centre of the cottage, it is a really hub for your holiday. It’s original features such as the iron range and sash windows, combined with the large table and bench make it a great place to get everyone together for a family meal or board game session.
The Living Room: Is a cosy thick walled room with shuttered windows, stylish leather sofas and original art. So whatever the weather you can huddle down, get comfy and cuddle up in front of a great film, on the smart 40’’ TV.
The Kitchen: Whether your cooking a quick pizza or making a four course extravaganza the kitchen with it’s sleek quartz surfaces and openness to the dining room is an enjoyable room to be in. It has everything you need; microwave, oven, four electric hobs, fridge with ice box and of course a dishwasher!
The Outside Spaces
The Belvedere: Coming from the Italian ‘bel’ beautiful and ‘vedere’ vision is exactly that. Situated high in the garden it commands a very admirable view of the lake which you can enjoy sipping wine on it’s balcony. This unique room was originally used as a reading room, and we have tried to keep this alive with a small desk, two comfy chairs and selection of books and art.
The Pavilion: This suntrap just separated from the cottage is a great addition, with a table football, chalk wall, music system and games it is a great place for those wet days or an evenings entertainment away from the TV.
The Rest: We know the Lakes isn’t always the driest place and The Rest (otherwise known as the bus shelter) is the perfect antidote to this; completely covered and with a heat lamp, you can enjoy drink outdoors overlooking the view in any weather!
The Garden: Eating outside is one of those things which when done well is a joy, at Mountain Cottage the barbeque area offer a protected view of the lake whilst still featuring a large table and barbeque, perfect for summer evenings.
The Bathrooms
The Wetroom: Is a massive and luxurious shower, with natural light from the solar tube and bright green tiles, it is the modern wake up call you need to get your day off on the right foot.
The Toilet: conveniently just off the second and third bedrooms, it is does what it sets out to do!
The En-suite: Whether you have been out for a long day hiking and want to soak in the bath or scrub up in the shower for dinner out, do so in style and comfort.
